Her er der bl.a. efteruddannelser og kurser, som nogle a-kasser tilbyder at man kan deltage i mens man går ledig for at kunne styrke dit cv. Dagpenge er selvfølgelig ikke en ydelse man kan få uden at give noget tilbage, det er pålagt, at man søger minimum 2 jobs ugentlig og at man får udfyldt de korrekte blanketter, hvilket selvfølgelig noget man bliver rådgivet efter, når man bliver ledig. Man kan samtidig heller ikke være på dagpenge forevigt. Da det efter dansk lovgivning er blevet pålagt at man maks kan få dagpenge 2 år i streg uden at have fundet arbejde. Får man deltid, jamen så tæller det faktisk ind i regnestykket.
